Authenticated command execution via unprotected extension parameter
Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in the IS-OIL component of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. A function module and report pass an unprotected parameter from the default extension to an operating-system command without neutralizing command elements. A highly privileged SAP account and network access are required; successful execution permits reading or modifying system data or shutting down the system.
