Authenticated dangerous-file upload via missing image validation
Published Jul 16, 2023 · Updated Oct 28, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Admidio before 4.2.10 allows remote authenticated users to store non-image files through CKEditor. The CKEditor upload handler moves submitted content into its images directory without checking the filename extension or verifying that the content is an image. Administrative privileges are required; a successful request places attacker-controlled content in application-managed storage.
