Browser script execution via unescaped title rendering
Published Jul 16, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Layui 2.8.0-rc.0 through 2.8.0-rc.16 allows remote attackers to run script via crafted title attributes. The form renderer copies checkbox and similar element title values into generated markup without util.escape, so embedded HTML or quotes break the attribute context. Exploitation requires an application to render attacker-controlled title content and a user to load the affected page, enabling script execution within that page's origin.
