CVE-2023-36862

Location disclosure via code-signing downgrade

Published Jul 26, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024

Information disclosure in AppleMobileFileIntegrity in Apple macOS before 13.5 allows local users to determine a user's current location. On Intel-based Mac computers, a downgrade condition lets an app evade code-signing restrictions intended to protect location information. Execution of an app and an Intel processor are required; the documented consequence is location disclosure, not data modification or service interruption.
