CVE-2023-36857

Authentication bypass via replayed TDI requests

Published Oct 18, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025

Authentication bypass in Bently Nevada 3500 System TDI firmware 5.05 allows attackers to gain device access via replayed traffic. The TDI accepts previously captured authenticated requests over its clear-text proprietary protocol as valid traffic. Exploitation requires captured transmissions from a man-in-the-middle position or verbose inspection traces, and it exposes device access without reported service interruption.
