Routing-protocol interruption via uninitialized rpd resource
Published Jul 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Use of an uninitialized resource in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows local users to crash rpd through the CLI. In a MoFRR operational state, rpd uses an uninitialized resource while processing a specific low-privileged CLI command and terminates, interrupting every routing protocol until automatic restart. A low-privileged authenticated session is required, the MoFRR state is outside attacker control, and repeated commands sustain the interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
