Root code execution via unsanitized SCEP URL
Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Dec 10, 2024
Command injection in Siemens RUGGEDCOM ROX before 2.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code with root privileges. The web interface passes the SCEP server configuration URL parameter into a command context without server-side input sanitation. A privileged authenticated account is required, and successful injection runs arbitrary commands with root privileges on the device.
