Root code execution via unsanitized upgrade URL
Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Command injection in Siemens RUGGEDCOM ROX before 2.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code as root. The web interface passes the software-upgrade URL parameter into a command without server-side sanitization. A highly privileged web-interface account is required, and successful exploitation fully compromises the underlying device operating system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
