Protected-project disclosure via unlimited import password guesses
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Improper restriction of password attempts in CODESYS Development System before 3.5.19.20 allows local users to access protected imports. The import dialog permits unlimited password guesses because it applies no brute-force limit to repeated failures. Local workstation access and a password-protected import are required; a successful guess exposes the imported project's contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
