CVE-2023-3668Network attack vector

Root command execution via unvalidated configuration parameters

Published Jul 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 28, 2024

Improper output escaping in Froxlor before 2.0.21 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via configuration parameters. admin_configfiles.php copied arbitrary POST keys and values into generated configuration JSON without an allowlist or field validation. The attacker needs server-settings permission, and a root user must execute the generated service-configuration command.
