CVE-2023-36672

Traffic disclosure via unvalidated local-network routes

Published Aug 9, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024

Cleartext traffic exposure in Clario VPN client 5.9.1.1662 and earlier for macOS allows physically proximate attackers to read leaked IP traffic. The client treats a public, non-RFC1918 subnet advertised as local as eligible for the local-network routing exception, bypassing the VPN tunnel. Exploitation requires the victim to join an attacker-controlled Wi-Fi or Ethernet network; exposed destinations and plaintext content can then be observed.
