Authenticated SQL injection via unchecked API sort fields
Published Jun 25, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024
SQL injection in the openITCOCKPIT 4.6.4 API allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL via the sort parameter. AngularRequest::getSort and multiple condition classes returned unvalidated sort fields to CakePHP ORDER BY construction, which does not sanitize them. A logged-in account with API access is required; successful injection can read or modify application database data or interrupt service.
