Service interruption via untrusted KeyInfo URL dereference
Published Jun 25, 2023 · Updated May 5, 2025
SSRF in Shibboleth XMLTooling before 3.2.4 allows remote attackers to make Service Provider shibd access attacker-chosen URLs. XMLTooling leaves Apache Santuario's default URI resolver active, so parsing a KeyInfo RetrievalMethod dereferences its untrusted URI. A crafted XML Signature KeyInfo element is required; the disclosed direct consequence is service interruption through denial of service.
