Authentication bypass via case-variant blocked username
Published Dec 6, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
Improper authentication in ProLion CryptoSpike 3.0.15P2 allows remote attackers to obtain an authentication token via the login REST API. The login API treats username casing inconsistently between blocked-user enforcement and directory authentication, accepting a case-variant form of the same account. An attacker needs credentials for a blocked LDAP or Active Directory account; changing only the username letter case bypasses the block and creates a usable token.
