User impersonation via JWT tokens logged centrally
Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Sensitive-data logging in ProLion CryptoSpike 3.0.15P2 allows remote attackers to impersonate users by retrieving JWT tokens. The centralized Grafana logging pipeline records JWT bearer tokens, while the Loki REST API exposes those log entries without authentication. Access requires either an authenticated Grafana account or network reachability to the unauthenticated Loki API and grants the impersonated user's web and REST privileges.
