CVE-2023-36635Network attack vector

Authenticated interface modification via missing API authorization

Published Sep 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024

API authorization failure in FortiSwitchManager 7.0.0 through 7.0.1 and 7.2.0 through 7.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to alter interfaces. The management API fails to enforce the read-only role when processing interface-setting updates, accepting writes from accounts barred from configuration changes. Read-only credentials and network access to the API are required; successful use alters managed interface configuration and can interrupt availability.
