Local memory disclosure via unchecked configuration index
Published Jan 9, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
An out-of-bounds read in ST54-android-packages-apps-Nfc before 130-20230215-23W07p0 allows local users to read NFC service memory. NfcStExtensions::getProprietaryConfigSettings uses attacker-controlled byteNb and bitNb values to select a bit from the mPropConfig.config stack array without validating the index. On the tested Xiaomi firmware, any installed application could invoke the exported nfc.st_ext service, exposing memory from the NFC service context.
