API token disclosure via unrestricted ADB backups
Published Nov 3, 2023 · Updated Sep 5, 2024
Information disclosure in Boomerang Parental Control before 13.83 for Android allows physically proximate attackers to obtain API tokens. The Android manifest omits android:allowBackup="false", so ADB exports the app's internal data, including device and API tokens, to a connected PC. Exploitation requires physical device access with ADB enabled or recovery access; the exposed token authenticates requests to the Boomerang API.
