CVE-2023-36610Network attack vector

Account access via predictable authentication tokens

Published Jul 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 25, 2024

Insufficient entropy in Ovarro TBox RTU firmware 1.50.598 and earlier allows remote attackers to access user accounts via forged tokens. The token generator uses an incorrectly initialized random seed and predictable time-based values, making valid software tokens susceptible to brute force. Exploitation requires token-generation knowledge and grants access to an account that can read application source code.
