Unauthenticated service interruption via buffer over-read
Published Oct 10, 2023 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Denial of service in Microsoft Message Queuing on affected Windows releases allows remote attackers to interrupt the service over the network. Microsoft identifies a buffer over-read in MSMQ but has not published the affected code path or malformed input operation that triggers it. Exploitation requires Message Queuing to be installed and enabled; the documented impact is loss of availability without confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
