Authenticated script execution via unneutralized HTML tags
Published Oct 10, 2023 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
Basic XSS in the GUI of Fortinet FortiOS 7.2.0 through 7.2.5 allows remote authenticated users to inject script-related HTML tags. The SAML and Security Fabric components fail to neutralize those tags before the GUI renders attacker-controlled content. Exploitation requires authenticated network access, high privileges, and user interaction, and runs injected script in the affected GUI context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
