Weak password recovery in ILIAS 7.0_beta1 through 7.20 and 8.0_beta1 through 8.1 allows remote attackers to take over accounts. ILIAS has not published which password-reset operation or validation error permits the takeover. The password-reset interface is remotely reachable without authentication, and successful exploitation grants control of the targeted account and its accessible data and privileges.
