Command execution via malicious workflow filename
Published Dec 25, 2023 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Command injection in the ILIAS workflow engine before 7.23 and 8 before 8.3 allows remote authenticated users to run system commands. Public records identify the uploaded workflow definition filename as the injection input but do not disclose the command-building function or escaping failure. An authenticated user with high privileges can execute commands as the application user, granting control over data and processes accessible to that account.
