Administrator takeover via unsanitized relation fields
Published Sep 15, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Information disclosure in Strapi before 4.11.7 allows remote authenticated users to obtain administrator password-reset tokens. The /content-manager/relations route returns private relation fields and lets a configured relation view select resetPasswordToken as its display field. The user needs Content Manager configure-view permission and an administrator relation; the exposed token permits an administrator password reset and privilege escalation.
