CVE-2023-36467Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via pipeline template injection

Published Jun 28, 2023 · Updated Nov 6, 2024

Code injection in AWS data.all 1.2.0 through 1.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a pipeline Template value. The pipeline creation path passes the user-controlled Template value to the deprecated AWS DDK template option, which interprets commands in the ECS deployment task. A valid account and pipeline configuration access are required; successful exploitation runs commands in the deployment task context.
