Remote code execution via crafted PGM input
Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2025
Buffer over-read in Windows PGM on affected Microsoft Windows releases allows remote attackers to execute code over the network. The PGM implementation reads beyond a buffer while processing crafted input, but Microsoft has not disclosed the specific parser routine or malformed field. Exploitation is unauthenticated and requires the Windows Message Queuing service to be enabled and running in a PGM Server environment.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
