Server crash via nested UNION views
Published Jun 22, 2023 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Denial of service in MonetDB Server 11.45.17 and 11.46.0 allows remote attackers to crash the server via crafted SQL statements. The rel_deps dependency walker mishandles dependencies for a view built over UNION ALL when another view references it, producing a server crash. A client able to submit the two CREATE VIEW statements can terminate the entire database service rather than receiving a query error.
