Reflected XSS via action parameter
Published Aug 10, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
Cross-site scripting in PHPJabbers Callback Widget 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in users' browsers via crafted action requests. The index.php endpoint reflects the action parameter into the response without neutralizing HTML, allowing an img onerror payload to run when the response is rendered. Exploitation requires a victim to request the crafted URL; the demonstrated impact is client-side script execution with limited confidentiality and integrity effects and no service interruption.
