CVE-2023-36255Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via test-PDF path parameter

Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Command injection in Eramba Enterprise and Community editions 3.19.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The /settings/download-test-pdf endpoint passes the unvalidated path query value into a shell command used to generate a test PDF, allowing shell metacharacters to append commands. A valid session is required; commands run as the application account, while their output appears in the HTTP response only when debug mode is enabled.
