CVE-2023-36250Public exploit

Code execution via unescaped exported formulas

Published Sep 14, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024

CSV injection in GNOME Time Tracker 3.0.2 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through an exported crafted TSV file. A formula beginning with = in the cmdline field is written verbatim into an exported TSV cell, causing spreadsheet software to interpret it rather than treat it as text. Exploitation requires a user to open the file in formula-capable spreadsheet software, enabling code to run with that user's privileges.
