Stored script execution via unsanitized story titles
Published Aug 1, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in CubicleSoft Barebones CMS 2.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a story title. The admin panel's saveasset action stores the title parameter without neutralizing injected HTML, and rendering the edited story title executes its script in a viewer's browser. An authenticated account must edit and save a story, and another user must view the stored title; the script then runs in that viewer's Barebones CMS origin.
