Stored XSS via unfiltered DOM attributes
Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Oct 30, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Amauri Champeaux tarteaucitron.js before 1.13.1 allows remote authenticated users to run script in users' browsers. The getElemAttr function returns data-* or ordinary DOM attribute strings without applying fixSelfXSS before those values reach generated page content. Exploitation requires a low-privileged remote user to store a crafted attribute and another user to render it, enabling browser-context data access or content modification.
