Browser script execution via reflected mc parameter
Published Jul 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Reflected XSS in IP-DOT BuildaGate 5 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser through a crafted URL. The company_search_tree.php endpoint inserts the mc query value into the response without neutralizing executable markup. Exploitation requires a victim to open the attacker-supplied link, after which the script runs in the site's browser context and can access data or actions available to that session.
