Account takeover via unchallenged credential changes
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Incorrect access control in PHPJabbers Availability Booking Calendar 5.0 allows remote authenticated users to take over an account via profile changes. The Profile function accepts email-address and password changes for the current account without requesting the existing password or another security challenge. An attacker must first obtain an authenticated session; changing the email address, which serves as the username, and password prevents the original owner from recovering access.
