Code execution via unchecked plugin archive upload
Published Jun 22, 2023 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in funadmin 3.3.2 and 3.3.3 allows attackers to execute PHP code through a crafted offline plugin archive. The app/backend/controller/Addon.php localinstall method extracts plugin contents without rejecting web shells or sensitive PHP functions, placing attacker-controlled PHP under a web-accessible static plugin path. Access to the backend offline-install function is required; successful exploitation runs code with the web service's privileges and can compromise the hosted application.
