Authenticated command execution via unsanitized ping host
Published Jul 10, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in TamronOS IPTV System 20230703 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through /api/ping. The endpoint passes the host parameter into a system ping command without neutralizing shell metacharacters, so a semicolon starts an added command. A valid login is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-chosen commands with the web service's operating-system privileges.
