CVE-2023-3600Network attack vector

Application crash via worker object use-after-free

Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Dec 18, 2025

Use-after-free in Mozilla Firefox and Firefox ESR before 115.0.2, and Thunderbird before 115.0.1, allows remote attackers to cause a crash. InputStreamHolder creates a StrongWorkerRef to itself inside its constructor; failure destroys the callback and can delete the object before construction finishes. Triggering the condition requires application processing of remote content and user interaction; the bounded published consequence is an exploitable application crash.
