Unauthenticated privileged code execution via PAPI buffer overflow
Published Jul 25, 2023 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Buffer overflow in PAPI services on Aruba access points allows remote attackers to execute privileged code via crafted UDP port 8211 packets. Multiple underlying services copy attacker-controlled PAPI packet data without checking destination-buffer size; exact functions are undisclosed. The gate is unauthenticated network reachability to UDP/8211, and successful exploitation grants privileged control of the embedded operating system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
