Member-to-administrator escalation via unchecked API authorization
Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Oct 18, 2024
Missing authorization in MeterSphere before 2.10.2 LTS allows remote authenticated users to promote members to workspace administrators. The /setting/workspace/member/update endpoint and other workspace and project APIs execute administrator-only changes without checking the caller's role. An existing workspace member and valid session tokens are required; successful exploitation grants administrative control over the affected workspace or project.
