Server crash via unbounded Infinity-coordinate edit
Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024
Uncontrolled resource consumption in IntellectualSites FastAsyncWorldEdit before 2.6.3 allows local users to crash the Minecraft server. The //pos1 and //pos2 region selectors accept the case-sensitive Infinity coordinate, and a subsequent edit operates beyond Minecraft's safe 30,000,000-block range. Access to WorldEdit selection and edit commands is required; processing the unbounded region exhausts resources and crashes the server.
