Account compromise via optional strong-password enforcement
Published Jan 29, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Weak password enforcement in IBM Aspera Faspex 5.0.0 through 5.0.10 allows remote attackers to compromise user accounts. The default account policy leaves the Require strong passwords control disabled, so password creation accepts credentials without the documented strength rules. Network access to the login service and successful password guessing are required; compromise exposes only data accessible to the affected account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
