CVE-2023-35897

Local code execution via DLL search-path hijacking

Published Oct 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024

DLL hijacking in IBM Storage Protect Client and Storage Protect for Virtual Environments 8.1.0.0 through 8.1.19.0 allows local users to run code. IBM has not disclosed the executable, loaded DLL, or unsafe search-path operation that processes the specially crafted file. Exploitation requires a local user and a crafted file on Windows; successful hijacking permits arbitrary code execution.
