Hidden editor access via board state change
Published Jul 17, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Missing authorization in Mattermost 7.10.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with system-administrator privileges to grant editor access. Boards permission-state handling accepts a change that grants link holders Editor membership while the sharing UI continues to display the prior access state. Exploitation requires system-administrator control and a valid sharing link; recipients can modify board content, with no reported confidentiality or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
