Unauthenticated root command execution via login events

OS command injection in Supermicro H12DST-B BMC firmware before 03.10.35 allows remote attackers to execute commands as root. The SMTP notification handler interpolates attacker-controlled login-event text into an echo pipeline and passes it to run_shellcmd without neutralizing shell syntax. When login-event email alerts are enabled, a crafted unauthenticated username reaches this path and grants control of the out-of-band management controller.
