CVE-2023-35837

Device takeover via SSID-derived default password

Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Jun 16, 2025

Default credentials in SolaX Pocket WiFi 3 through 3.001.02 allow physically proximate attackers to obtain administrative access. The web interface uses the device registration ID, publicly exposed as the persistent WiFi SSID, as its administrative password and does not require a first-use change. An attacker within wireless range can reconfigure the device or upload firmware, enabling service interruption or code execution.
