Authenticated code execution via Notes file upload
Published Jun 17, 2023 · Updated Dec 17, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in SugarCRM 12.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through the Notes module. The Notes save action accepts an uploaded .htaccess file that overrides the upload directory's PHP protections, after which a second upload supplies executable PHP code. Regular user credentials and access to the Notes module are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied commands on the SugarCRM server.
