CVE-2023-35803

Root code execution via unchecked acsd copy

Published Oct 4, 2023 · Updated Sep 20, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Extreme Networks IQ Engine before 10.6r2 allows network-adjacent attackers to execute code as root. The default TCP port 5916 ah_acsd service copies user-supplied data into a fixed-length stack buffer without first validating its length. Exploitation requires network adjacency but no authentication, and successful exploitation grants root-level control of the access point.
