Database read and modification via unsanitized IP parameter
Published Jun 16, 2023 · Updated Dec 17, 2024
SQL injection in the ipandlanguageredirect extension for TYPO3 before 5.1.2 allows remote attackers to read and alter database data. LocalDatabase::getCountryCodeFromIpInDatabase concatenates the attacker-controlled ipAddress GET parameter twice into raw SQL inside inet_aton() calls without neutralizing SQL syntax. Unauthenticated access to the frontend AJAX request is sufficient when the LocalDatabase IP-to-country service is configured; database contents can be read and modified.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
