Contributor-level stored XSS via question titles
Published Aug 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stored XSS in ExpressTech Systems Quiz and Survey Master before 8.1.11 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts via question titles. The question-saving REST handler stores the question_title setting without stripping HTML, and the value is later rendered to other users. Contributor-level access is required to save the payload, and another user must view the affected quiz or question for the script to execute.
