Root command execution via font configuration request

Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Oct 15, 2024

OS command injection in Phoenix Contact WP 6xxx firmware before 4.0.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The HTTPS web service passes attacker-controlled font-configuration POST data to an operating-system command without adequate neutralization. Low-privilege web access is required, and successful exploitation grants full administrative control of the panel.
